MOVIE AFTERNOON – THE INTERPRETER

Club Open 11.45am  /  Movie 1.15pm

Step into a high-stakes world of political intrigue and linguistic secrets with The Interpreter, the gripping  political thriller starring Academy Award winners Nicole Kidman and Sean Penn.

Directed by legendary filmmaker Sydney Pollack—and notably the first feature film ever granted permission to shoot inside the actual United Nations General Assembly hall—this masterclass in suspense will keep you guessing until the very last frame.

Logline: When a United Nations interpreter overhears an assassination plot whispered in a rare African dialect, she becomes the target of a ruthless conspiracy, and the federal agent assigned to protect her begins to suspect she might be hiding more than she’s translating.

Why You Need to Watch It:

• The Ultimate Cat-and-Mouse Dynamic: Watch the incredible on-screen chemistry and tension unfold between Silvia Broome (Kidman) and veteran Secret Service agent Tobin Keller (Penn).

• Unprecedented Access: Experience breathtaking, authentic backdrops filmed on location at the iconic UN Headquarters in New York City.

• Brain Over Brawn: A smart, deliberate, and deeply atmospheric thriller that relies on diplomacy, psychology, and word-of-mouth secrets rather than endless explosions.
