Annual Club Games
Each year during the winter period, the Club organises is "Annual Games" tournaments. A nominated Committee member manages the various activities in a knockout format. The Annual Club Games are open to all Club Members.
Held every year, usually in January and February and consist of the following games:
- Snooker – both singles and pairs
- Darts – both singles and pairs
- Billiards – singles only
- Dominoes – pairs only playing “5s & 3s”
- Cribbage – pairs only
Club Games - 2020
The 2020 games completed on Feb 12th 2020. and the winners were:
- Snooker singles - L Taylor
- Snooker doubles - H.Fossey and B.Hoskins
- Billiards - D. Pulman
- Darts singles - E. Major
- Darts doubles - J. Pedder and K Archer
- Dominoes - C. Martin and D. Farebrother
- Cribbage - M. Sparkes and L. Hardwick
- Join Club Champions - M.Sparkes and L.Hardwick
Extra to the Club games, there are also two further competitions held annually:
John Haggar Trophy - Dominoes
Usually held every April on a Monday night playing Dominoes Doubles. John was a Club Member for over 40 years and was both Treasurer and a Trustee. He loved a game of dominoes on most Monday nights and this trophy was donated by his wife
Vic Rogers Trophy - Snooker
Usually held in April playing Snooker Singles on a Sunday Evening. Vic was a Club Member for over 40 years and a skilled Snooker and Billiards player. Money raised on the night goes to the Guide Dogs for the Blind Association.
All games will be played on a knockout basis until the final, when the winner will be decided on the best of 3 (or 5 at Darts).
All games will start at 19:30 prompt, and late attendance could lead to disqualification.
The Club will provide a buffet for all of the main competition evenings.
The winners and runners up will win drinks vouchers for use at the bar.
If you are unable to attend the dates set, please see a Committee Member, who will get your name removed from the Games list.
The “Club Champion” is the most successful player across the various games
Entry forms for each game appear on the various display boards around the club in late October and the draw is usually made in late December. Most of the competitions are held over one evening although sometimes the final is played on a second evening.
NOTE: If anyone is interested in learning dominoes or cribbage before the next games, then please ask a Committee Member who will assist.
