The Boxmoor Social Club was first established in 1891 in nearby St. Johns Road as an association for working men and boys. It relocated in Horsecroft Road shortly thereafter and has been a presence in the area ever since (see "History" for a more comprehensive account).
Today it fulfills much the same function as was originaly envisaged and is a vibrant feature of the local community providing a welcome retreat for Boxmoor and Hemel Hempstead residents alike. Aware of its responsibilities it endeavours at all times to be sympathetic to the sensibilities of its immediate neighbours whilst at the same time ensuring that members and their guests attending the club are able to enjoy both the comfortable facilities and the top-class entertainment regularly provided.
